We
are Sergio and Nicole and we are about to get married in Venice,
Italy in May 2008. While making the necessary preparations for
our wedding, we got to the point where we had to choose where
we were going to have our wedding registry, which is how this
idea came about.
Being in the fortunate position to already have our home set
up with all the bells and whistles, and getting married overseas,
you can imagine our predicament in deciding which gifts we’ll
have to choose and when our guests will present the gifts to us.
Getting married in Venice also, presents its own financial challenges.
We would rather have asked our guests for a donation towards the
wedding instead of an unwanted gift, but we were afraid of offending
some of our guests.
This is the beauty of this wedding registry.
Instead of asking for money from our guests, they get the opportunity
to buy us a virtual gift. We then receive the money on the other
side; it's that simple. We then get to decide how and when we
want to spend the money we received from the gifts that were purchased.
Let us give you an example:
Instead of getting a second toaster that we don’t really
need, we would rather have a romantic dinner for two. Our guest
gets the opportunity to buy us that dinner by purchasing the “gift”
online; not feeling offended that we asked for a financial donation.
We, on the other hand, then get the choice of where and when
we are going to enjoy this gift. Our guests will also have the
opportunity to attach a note to their gift so that we’ll
know exactly when and who bought us each gift.
If you do want a toaster, and someone buys it for you, you still
get the money to go to any shop of choice and buy the model and
make you desire.
We are certain that there are many of you, in the same position
as us, and we wanted to help you make this registry hassle free
and easy to control.
You, as the bridal couple, can check at any given point in time,
which gift has been purchased, and have the opportunity to get
the heads up on your thank you cards.
We hope that you find this site as helpful as we did!
Enjoy…
